Run a drain and spin cycle. If door cannot be locked the washer goes into pause mode and a code is generated. This is all it will do. The door lock led light will blink.

The door lock light is blinking on my front load maytag maxima. This happened when i forgot to turn the water on. Door not completely closed due to interference. Check door lock mechanism for damage misalignment or foreign objects.

The door should unlock after 60 seconds. The washer will go into a hold and drain routine for 8 minutes. Reconnect power to washer plug in. If the washer will not unlock at the end of a wash cycle unplug the washer or disconnect power. At the start of a cycle the washer attempts to lock the door 6 times. Pausing the wash cycle is how it can be disabled.
